Description
The tradition of sabrage, which consists of opening a bottle of champagne with a saber dates back to the XIX century and Napoleon's military campaigns.
The hussars (light cavalery) opened champagne with their swords to celebrate victories. Sabering continues today in celebration of special occasions and simply for fun.
Champagne Cuillier is a family estate located 10 kilometres north of Reims. The 4.5 hectares of vineyards are spread across three locations, Pouillon, Trigny and Chenay, bringing together a mosaic of extremely varied terroirs. The great diversity of sandy soils, particularly favourable to growing Pinot Noir and Meunier, gives the champagnes their aromas, structure and unique characteristics.
Accompanied by a tightly knit, passionate team, the estate is committed to sustainable viticulturethat is respectful of the environment. It aims to reduce the human footprint and optimise interaction with the ecosystem.
