Located on Avenue de Champagne, one of Epernay’s most prestigious thoroughfares, the Mus\u00e9e du Vin de Champagne et d’Arch\u00e9ologie R\u00e9gionale tells thestory of the Champagne region<\/b>, from the formation of its soil millions of years ago to the present day. It brings together collections of international stature<\/b> in a modern, interactive scenography<\/b> adapted to all audiences (tactile tables, virtual reality headsets, digital models, aroma table).<\/p>

The tour begins with the geological<\/b> and paleontological<\/b> history of the region. It continues with the history of human settlement in Champagne, illustrated by a rich selection of regional archaeological finds, taking visitors from Neolithic<\/b> burials to goldsmiths of Merovingian<\/b> society, via exceptional Celtic<\/b> finery and Gallo-Roman<\/b> pottery. The tour then turns to Champagne wine<\/b>, a regional heritage and flagship of the French economy. Through a dozen rooms, visitors discover an extensive wine collection tracing the evolution of production and consumption patterns for this iconic beverage. <\/p>

The tour ends with a tribute to local personalities, collectors from the 19th century<\/b> and the Belle Epoque<\/b>, who bequeathed paintings, sculptures, decorative arts and ethnographic curiosities from all over the world to the museum.
