Django sur son nuage: Live concert at the Palais des fêtes in Epernay on 19 September at 8.45pm

Christophe Lartilleux and Latcho Drom

Lulled by gypsy music from birth, Christophe Lartilleux created Latcho Drom and has been swinging at the crossroads of jazz and gypsy music since 1993.

Latcho Drom (which means ‘good road’ in the gypsy language) unleashes a formidable energy that blends virtuosity, talent and a relaxed approach.

His main source of inspiration: Django Reinhardt. But it was by listening to Chick Coréa, Pat Metheny, John Mac Laughlin, Y. Seffer, Joe Satriani, Frank Cambale, Larry Carlton, or even Bach, Paganini and Ravel that his style evolved. His musical influences range from jazz-fusion to bebop, from flamenco to gypsy swing. Gypsy swing is a cheerful, popular music that appeals to all generations, and Christophe Lartilleux is accompanied by talented musicians who are as passionate about the traditional music of Eastern Europe as they are about the great composers of the genre. Together, they share a taste for the sound and swing of the Django Reinhardt era.

Three highlights in Christophe Lartilleux’s career. In 2016, he was the guitar understudy for actor Reda Kateb in the film ‘Django’; in 2020, he created ‘Requiem pour mes frères tziganes’ with the VIVA classical orchestra at the Opéra de Reims; and in 2021, he arranged the music for ‘She is raimbow’ for a GROUPAMA TV advert. Over the past 20 years, Latcho Drom has performed more than 1,500 concerts around the world since 1993, and they’re still going strong!

At our request, Christophe Lartilleux will present an original programme in memory of the Hot Jazz Club de France quintet founded in 1934 by Stéphane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt, with a reconstituted line-up for our greatest pleasure.

Christophe Lartilleux will be accompanied by : Nitcho Reinhardt (guitar) Déborah Lartilleux (rhythm guitar) Johan Renard (violin) François Tys (double bass)

‘Satchmocracy: Live concert at the Théâtre Gabrielle Dorziat in Epernay on 24 October at 8.45pm

Jérôme Etcheberry and his Popstet

Ricky Riccardi (curator of the Louis Armstrong House Museum) ‘Listening to “Satchmocracy” was a real shock to me from start to finish, and it will remain one of my greatest satisfactions of this eventful year. Instead of imagining themselves in the 1920s, Jérôme Etcheberry and his orchestra have interpreted this music in the year 2020, while retaining its freshness and liveliness. It is in this contemporary, swinging context that Louis Armstrong’s original melodic lines burst forth and strike the listener in new and exciting ways, particularly when these lines are arranged for several instruments and played to constantly changing rhythms. It’s further proof, if any were needed, that every note Armstrong ever played will remain both fashionable and timeless, especially the way it’s played on the ‘SATCHMOCRACY’ album.’

On stage: Jérôme Etcheberry (trumpet, arrangements) Malo Mazurié (trumpet) César Poirier (tenor saxophone, clarinet) Benjamin Dousteyssier (alto saxophone and baritone) Félix Hunot (guitar) Ludovic Allainmat (piano) Sébastien Girardot (double bass) David Grebil (drums)

‘Fabrice Eulry at the Olympia”: Live concert at Le Palace cinema in Epernay on 14 November at 8.45pm

Fabrice Eulry – Part 1: Michel Coppé Jazz Trio +

Part 1: Pop Songs.

Continuous creativity, POP revisited Michel COPPÉ (piano) Alexandre CARELS (double bass) Dominique TASSOT (drums).

After working together for many years in the NEW TONE JAZZ 4tet, most of the musicians are now back together with pianist and composer Michel COPPÉ for a new project with a strong jazz flavour: POP SONGS. The aim of this ambitious project is to revisit the music of the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Sting and many others, mixing influences and blending genres in a creative ferment, combining melodic richness, energy and jazz improvisation. Somewhere between modernity and a nod to the past, here is a colourful, sometimes surprising and always inventive music that will seduce, astonish and yet always be accessible, centred on discovery and sharing with the public’.

Part 2: « Fabrice Eulry comme à L’Olympia »

Fabrice Eulry, the ‘Chopin of Boogie’ according to LE FIGARO, will transport you and his piano in a show bursting with fantasy, humour and virtuosity. From Bach to Hendrix, he plays all kinds of music, with an innate sense of rhythm and improvisation that makes his constantly evolving show sparkle. Every evening, his generosity creates a warm communion with the audience…

This man is a phenomenon! Since 1981, he has performed 4,000 times in 19 countries, on 4 continents, and has recorded over 29 albums. At Philippe Bouvard’s request, he played at Bobino for almost 4 months with his show ‘Fabrice Eulry et son piano fou’. He has performed fifteen times at the Olympia and duetted with Iggy Pop and Catherine Ringer in the Canal+ programme ‘La Musicale’. He also spent 2 weeks at the Casino de Paris, among other performances.

For his concert at Le Palace cinema, Fabrice Eulry brings us his Olympia concert.
