Why go there?

Culminating at an altitude of 240 metres, Mont-Aimé seems to have been occupied since the Neolithic period, later becoming the site of a Gallic oppidum. In 1210, the Countess Blanche of Navarre, mother of Thibault IV, had Mont-Aimé castle built. In 1914, Mont-Aimé was part of the French Army’s defensive system during the Battle of Marne. Today, Mont-Aimé has an orientation table, a commemorative obelisk, walking circuits and a panoramic view of the Champenois plain.
