In the village of Pierry, just a few kilometres from Epernay in Champagne, stands a magnificent gentleman’s residence. Nestling in an landscaped garden, Château de Pierry reflects 18th-century Champagne architecture. Its owner Jean-Christophe Gobillard opens the doors of the wine estate to you. Take a leisurely tour of the entire estate: private flats, reception rooms, the Champagne attic and collections of paintings. Enjoy a taste of life at a château!
Champagne Le Gallais
Charlotte Le Gallais welcomes you to the family estate, an estate rich in history. The Château de Boursault vineyard was once owned by Madame Veuve Clicquot. In this unique setting, take part in a workshop on vines and wine, punctuated by a number of highlights: sabrage, dégorgement à la volée, harvest workshops, clear wine tasting and a game of champagne aromas. On the terrasse des Abbayes, your tasting of grands crus is combined with a magnificent view of the vineyards of the Marne Valley.
Champagne Joseph Desruets
In the village of Dom Pierre Pérignon, in Hautvillers, the Maison Desruets continues the tradition. Since 1888, the grapes have been pressed in the traditional way on the same press. During your visit, you’ll be immersed in the profession of an independent winemaker. You’ll follow the process of making the House’s wines and try your hand at champagne sabrage. The highlight of the visit is the famous Darcq Flamain press, the oldest press in the AOC Champagne region.
Champagne Canard-Duchêne
Set in the bucolic village of Ludes, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims Regional Park, the Maison Canard-Duchêne opens the doors to its family history. On 4 levels, you can explore 6 kilometres of the former cellars of the Château de Ludes. The hand-cut galleries take you down to a depth of 38 metres. During your visit, your guide will reveal the origins of the House: the meeting between Victor Canard, a cooper and Léonie Duchêne, a winegrower’s daughter, at the end of the 19ᵉ century. After learning about the different stages in champagne production, move on to a tasting of the estate’s emblematic cuvées. For the more daring, try your hand at the art of sabrage during an introductory session!
Champagne Dallancourt
On the Dallancourt estate, take a moment to ‘D Time’. Virginie and Antoine Lutun offer you a relaxed champagne tasting. Choose the setting for your tasting: in their cellar in Epernay, a stone’s throw from the Avenue de Champagne, or at the foot of the vines in one of their plots in the Aÿ terroir. Virginie and Antoine have created 5 ‘D Time’ moments for you, with a special programme including guided tours, bottle-sabrage and, of course, tastings of their different cuvées (Brut, Rosé, Blanc de Blanc, Prestiges).
Get a bird's eye view of the Champagne landscape while keeping your feet firmly on the ground
On the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay, the House of Champagne de Castellane offers an original tour. At 66 metres high, the Castellane Tower is the highest point in Epernay. 237 steps later, you’ll be breathless as you take in the breathtaking views of Epernay and its hillsides. To recover from the climb, a flute of Brut Croix Rouge, the signature wine of Maison Castellane, awaits you. Continue with a visit to the unique library. The Label Room houses a collection of 7,000 champagne bottle labels and collars!
