The Champagne Houses in Reims

In Reims, the butte Saint-Nicaise is a chalk hill made up of quarries and wells: the Crayères. These incomparable cellars house the productions of the great Champagne Houses of Reims.

The Veuve Clicquot House

This brand of excellence bears the name of the "Grande Dame of Champagne": Barbe Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin. Widowed at just 27, she took over the reins of the Clicquot company founded by her father-in-law in 1772. With her passion for innovation, she revolutionized the world of champagne. In the depths of the estate's historic cellars, don't miss a drop of Veuve Clicquot's history, and revel in its grands crus, marked by the primacy of Pinot Noir.

The Taittinger House

In 1932, Pierre Taittinger, a lover of Champagne vineyards, acquired Château de la Marquetterie. The Taittinger brand is born: fine, delicate champagnes where Chardonnay predominates. Follow this family epic in the Maison's cellars. Excavated in the Gallo-Roman chalk pits of Reims, on the remains of the former Saint-Nicaire abbey, they provide an unusual setting for enjoying the flavours of Taittinger champagne.

Pommery House

In 1858, on the death of her husband, Madame Pommery took over the management of the company. Its innovative spirit is the signature of Maison Pommery: an Elizabethan-style château, an Art Nouveau villa and exceptional cellars. A monumental staircase with 116 steps takes you deep into the pits, 30 metres underground. The Maison Pommery cellars are a unique art gallery. Colossal bas-reliefs carved from chalk and contemporary creations punctuate your journey. Conclude this artistic experience with a glass of Pommery champagne!
